Beautification
The Beautification Committee has struggled at times dealing with the poor soil, plants that weren’t taken care of in the past. Also, they are trying to mitigate water usage to fit into the RTG HOA budget. Things on a good track now with the hiring of a gardener who has much more experience and knowledge. The biggest concerns have been the plantings along the cyclone fence. Since the fence is county property, they are just trying to find some vines that will hide it as much as possible. They are making progress with planting a lot of plumbago that is now thriving.
Another issue has been the dying pine trees along south side of Tierra Grande Drive which is Monterey County property. The committee has been quite successful in having some removed by the County. The long-term plan for that side of the road is to build a split rail fence. However, that must have the County’s approval which is in process.
The south side of the Tierra Grande entrance has been cleaned up and replanted
This is all funded by the RTG HOA voluntary annual dues. Thank you, all owners at RTG, for contributing to the beautification of this wonderful place where we live.

Welcoming and Other Services
The Welcome/Membership Committee delivers to new residents information concerning RTG. That includes a copy of the CC&Rs, a greeting from the president, a handy phone list of all the board members, the most recent copy of the newsletter and the phone directory.
The RTG HOA also tends the Little Free Library at the corner of Tierra Grande Dr. and Venado. The slogan is “Take a book and leave a book”. We have a wonderful group of readers in our community and you are invited to visit the library any time and participate.
